March of Dimes Walk

This year we have formed a team for our local March of Dimes walk. We have appropriately named the team Walker's Stalkers. It was hard to decide how much we wanted to set for our goal but I went with a solid $500. If we get there, we get there. I'm not going to sweat it.

We would like to cordially invite you all to join our team and walk with us. Feel free to make a donation if you wish. Here is the link to our Walker's Stalkers page

Walker's Facial Expressions

Walker is crazy! He is such a stubborn little boy who knows what he wants and how he's going to get it.
The above picture is an example of what I am talking about. He flipped the chair over like that and was content playing with his barn yard door. I turned the chair over and he went into a crying fit, turned the chair back over and continued playing. Whatever makes him happy!

Lately Walker has been talking up a storm. It's all still gibberish but his words have meaning for him. Tonight he was really letting R have it at dinner.
"Give me my dessert!"

"What are you doing with the phone?"

"Are you taking my picture?!"

"There better be a piece of dessert on this tray by the time I count to one!"

"What are you laughing about over there?"

"DESSERT!"

Let's Rodeo, Houston!

R was off this weekend so we decided to take Walker to the livestock show. His coworker's son was showing a heffer so we went to see that.
Walker's first time on the MetroRail. He loved it! A woman asked if he was my baby and I said yes. She said that Walker looked just like his dad. I get that a lot!

Looking at the animals.

Making a quick phone call

Checking out the trucks.
They have a Borden store and they have Elsie and a baby cow that you can pet. We walked by one time and Elsie was on a break. Fortunately we walked back by and she was there. Walker LOVED her! I had to take his hand off of her horns because he kept pulling them.
"Ooooh! A cow!"

"I'm going to touch it!"

"I love her"

"Okay, Walkie, gentle, not so hard!"
We ate so much food and were more than ready to go home. Great day and family weekend!

Catch Up!

I have not blogged in a while and have some pictures to upload. Walker has broken the camera on my phone, so picture taking has slowed down.

He is such a determined and stubborn little boy. We learned fast that Walker will meet his milestones whenever Walker is ready. You can't push him to do them, he just has to want to do them. He has been trying super hard lately to go from sitting position to free standing. It's really funny because he does this arm thing where he reaches up to the sky and then tries to stand. His pediatrician says he has some trunk weakness and will have to build up some more muscle.

Pretending to watch Tv

Gearing up...

Getting the balance...

Go little guy, GO!

He looks like he's dancing! Love this picture!

Taking a break to read the mail.

"Forget that bill! I'm not paying it!"

It looks like he is holding on to the chair but he's free-kneeling it here!

"That's enough for a day's work"

Walker and I were surprised when R called and said not to eat lunch and to wait for him. He decided to take a half day and spent a really pretty weekday with us. We went to Outrigger's for some fish tacos, rode the train at the Kemah Boardwalk,

went to Dairy Queen for a blizzard and cone, followed by Sylvan Beach Park for some swinging and sliding.

We had such a great day together.

15 Months!

Walker is 16.5 months old but we just went for 15 month appointment. He is doing wonderfully! He weighs 21.10 pounds and is 30.25 inches long. He's a little under the weather right now with a little cold. He took his shot like a big boy and didn't even flinch. He is so tough!
