Weekend Wrap Up

Friday we spent the whole day running around trying to get Walker a new pair of glasses. The type of glasses he currently has are hard to find. Their website gives a list of places that have them but some stopped taking out of office prescriptions. Walker sees a doctor from TCH and I really don't feel the need to switch because he is geared towards kids. Then we showed up at a place that was listed as a provider on the website and they are weeding them out because they are too hard to size. That's just laziness.

Anyways, we finally got Walker a new pair and they are super cute. Still the same style but a different color. He needed new glasses because his vision improved! Yay! I also learned that his ophthalmologist is retiring and he starts seeing a new one in October. I'm not good at dropping or getting new doctors. I just don't feel that the new doctor will understand how far we have come.

We spent Saturday as a family, shopping for Walker. He needed some new summer clothes because it is starting to get warm here.
Keeping it real.

"Wsup?"

"High five to all the ladies"

Such a big boy!
He also scored this awesome wagon. It has a detachable umbrella, turns into an ice chest, has a small cooler sack on the back, 6 cup holders, and turns into a bench.
"Let's go!"

"HEY! Stop taking pictures and pull this thing."

"Just us boys hanging out."
Saturday night, Uncle Paul left for Tennessee for a job. We had a nice little dinner to say "see ya". Sunday we laid around the house and did nothing. Such a good weekend.

Weekend Gardening Project

Walker had so much fun playing outside while we finished the garden.
He played with the pots:
He even thought to turn them over and play them like bongos:
 He ate soil:
Tried to make excuses on how he didn't eat soil. Evidence is clear, Walkie:
Our youngest pup, Buddy always manages to get stung by a wasp in the spring. One morning he came in and we found his whole face swollen. Today he came in and they got him good on his face. It doesn't bother him but does make him look like Alf.

When we were at the store R had asked me if I thought we needed to get a gardening sheet to keep weeds from growing. I said that I found this pin on Pinterest that said that newspaper killed weeds. He had this glazed look over his face and asked the question again. The next morning I hear him talking with our neighbor who has a beautiful yard and come out to find this happening:
R said that he asked him what he used and he told him that he usually used newspaper. WHAT! My husband doubted my all sacred Pinterest?! He sure hasn't doubted Pinterest dinners that I've made.

And here's the final product. We love it!

GI Appointment

Walker had a GI appointment today and all is good to report. She really didn't do a lot or have anything to report, they are just watching his growth. His growth! He is 22 pounds 13.4 ounces! He's gained over a pound in a month. He is so active I thought he had stalled out, but I was wrong.

There is always a wait and with an active toddler you have to get creative. Walker usually has to be down to his diaper so they can examine his stomach and feel around at his organs. It was a little chilly in the office so we left his shirt on. He has this thing where he loves to either have one shoe on and one off and does the same with socks. We put his little diaper bag backpack on him and kept saying, "Walker's first day of school". He thought it was the funniest thing and so did we.

Walker is growing up so fast. I keep telling R how happy I am that I take daily pictures of him because that is where I see his growth. I stare at him every day and still see him as a little baby. He is walking more than crawling and has his own language. I love driving around and hearing him in the back seat, with this sweet little baby voice, just talking away!

Sitting in the chair, like a big boy, waiting for Dr. Carter. No big deal.
We decided to take full advantage of the beautiful day and eat lunch in the city. We went to Lankford Grocery for a juicy burger. It was so much fun. We love going into the city. It feels like a mini vacation.

We've lived in our home for 6 years now and with each year we do something to our house. This year we are working on the outside of the house. So far we have added shutters, solar screens, and are planting a nice little garden. Since Walker loves being outside he joined us and had a blast hanging out and working with his Daddy.
This is fun!

King of the mulch!

"A little that way, Daddy. Oops, a little the other way now."

Just relaxing and gardening. No biggie!

First Kolache

I had a hankering for a ham and Swiss cheese kolache from a local shop and decided to break Walker in. He devoured the thing! He had a regular, good ol' sausage kolache. He was pretty happy.

Mmmmm!

"This is mine"

Walker's Stalkers

That is our shirt design that Two Little Birds Design made for our March of Dimes walk. Isn't it just the cutest?! I'm so happy with it. The same company made Walker's banners for his birthday party. She is amazing, listens to what you want, and has a fast turnaround. Check out her shop!
